4。5 stars。 Fourth Wing reads like a not-so-original fanfic mashup of all the epic fantasy series we grew up with。 I agree with all of the one-star reviewers’ gripes。 And yet I also get the hype。 This was such a fun guilty pleasure read！ The pages just flew by。 So read this when you want a fun page-turner to escape into， not when you want to be wowed by incredible authorship。

As one who's not big into fantasy but has read a few series， including ACOTAR， I'll add my thoughts to the plethora of reviews already out there。 This reminded me of the Divergent series in many ways but with spicier romantic encounters and the addition of dragons （which was fun！） I thought the characters and plot were easier to grasp than ACOTAR and therefore found this one much easier to get through quickly without being bogged down by the world building （I know that's an important factor for As one who's not big into fantasy but has read a few series， including ACOTAR， I'll add my thoughts to the plethora of reviews already out there。 This reminded me of the Divergent series in many ways but with spicier romantic encounters and the addition of dragons （which was fun！） I thought the characters and plot were easier to grasp than ACOTAR and therefore found this one much easier to get through quickly without being bogged down by the world building （I know that's an important factor for many， just not as big of a priority for me。） I don't know if I got the hype but I did enjoy it and listen to the next one out of curiosity。 。。。more
